MINISTRIES

Angel Tree Report
There are a few Angels left of the board. A note from the Angel Tree Coordinator said a miracle has happened. When all churches and organizations had received the requested angels, 600 were still available. As of Dec. 1st, all 600 angels were taken- PTL! Just a reminder to have your Angel Tree gifts in the Narthex by next Sunday, Dec. 16. Thank you abundantly, above and beyond!

Operation Christmas Child Report
We are sending a total of 100 boxes to Operation Christmas Child this year! We've also collected all $700.00 needed for their shipping and handling! Praise God! Thank you to all who have helped and participated! Thank you again for your ministry to these needy children, and don*t forget to save your empty shoe boxes for next year as well as watch for those pre-Christmas and post-Christmas sales!

Pie Report
Pie making was a blessing with thirteen people involved from rolling crusts, making up crust dough, mixing pumpkin, and apple, fillings, cutting up apples, baking pies and clean up. We came up with 19 apple pies and 65 pumpkin pies for a total of 84 pies! The pies were taken to the Tacoma Rescue Mission on Tuesday. What a time of productivity and fellowship, thank you all so very much!

Fall Sunday Morning Christian Ed. Opportunities (Formerly known as Sunday school)

Changes in Sunday morning Christian education:

This morning we started our new age integrated Sunday school program. What that means is, all ages are welcome to attend any Christian education class that we offer on Sunday morning.

Our objective is to provide classes that would be appropriate for families with young children, families with young adults, as well as adults. Thus we hope to offer at least three classes.

Here are the current classes:
Class 1- Dan will be using the clay animation series, "David and Goliath" as we look at the Christ life.
Class 2- Don Kinberg will be teaching the book of Acts
Class 3– Eva Means & Terry Meyers are offering a Women’s Bible Study Class

In conjunction with this change, we are setting up a time to prioritize the education of our children in a fun and interactive Sunday evening program that will occur on the same nights as our Youth Group.

If you are interested in helping or even giving leadership with any of our Christian education programs, i.e. Sunday morning classes, Sunday evening classes, food preparers, activity coordinators, crafts, helpers, etc. please contact Pastor Dan at 825-1694.

Small Groups

Hillside Community Church has an active small group ministry.  We meet in the homes of individuals for bible study, sharing needs, fellowship, prayer and building up of the saints.  The groups vary in size from 6-12 people and composed of  mature Christians, those new in the faith and those that have not yet made a decision, but are seeking answers.

We welcome visitors at any time, so if you are interested, please contact us for the date and location of a group meeting near you.

Universal Church Support
At Hillside  we are used by the Lord to minister to His church body regardless of where a person might regularly worship.  This takes various forms including counseling, Bible studies and general fellowship.

Young Adult's Fellowship

This group is for 6th-12th grade youth.  The format of the meetings alternates between Bible studies and community and overseas service. They collect food for the food bank, do chores for places such as the senior center, serve breakfast at the Union Gospel Mission, send supplies overseas to orphanages, etc.

Children's Church
The Hillside Community Children's Church is currently available for children ages 4 -9. Children's church is offered during the teaching portion of the morning worship service. The children are dismissed and escorted to their classes just prior to the sermon.  It is our intent to provide a place where our children are given the opportunities to worship in music and prayer. They are given a scriptural foundation in the Word of God where they learn Biblical principles and ultimately see their need for the Living Word, Christ Himself.

Our children are also given opportunities to look beyond the Enumclaw Plateau. They are involved in an ongoing missions project, supporting children's ministries in Albania in both prayer and financial offerings.

Sunday School
Sunday School is offered for all ages at 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. each Sunday.
