This is a great opportunity to invite friends and family to join us for food, fellowship and fun! Hope to see you there!

Cleaning/Construction Crew
We would like to compose a list of people who would be willing to volunteer to help with maintenance, construction projects and cleaning of the church building. You could volunteer to help with a one-time project or agree to help with an ongoing project like the cleaning of a specific area of the facility. There are numerous projects that need our attention. If you would be willing to devote some of your time to helping with church up-keep, please contact Mike Meyers.

Housing Ministry:
Do you have a spare room or mother-n-law apartment that you would be willing to rent out on a short term basis? From time to time a temporary housing need arises. If you would be willing to help on a short term basis, please contact the office to have your name placed on a contact list. Contact Kristi Terrell with questions!

eScrip Update!
eScrip is a program sponsored by Safeway where up to 4% of your purchases could be designated & donated to Hillside Community and as much as 10% of your purchases during the back-2-school promotion in August (you will find more information regarding that on the back of this sheet).

Hillside began participating in the eScrip program less than three years ago. In that time we've earned nearly $5,000.00! We were able to use those funds to purchase a new projection system and are currently saving towards a new church sign.

Right now we have 51 families signed up to support us through the eScrip program. Thank you to everyone who is participating! If you haven't yet signed up for eScrip, there are sign up sheets in the Narthex, and all you need is a Safeway Club Card! Feel free to take one of the sign up sheets and sign up your friends & family too! Contact Kristi Terrell with questions 825-1694

eScrip Recycling
We can also earn additional funds by recycling printer toner, ink cartridges and cell phones. Check the list of valid donations (only certain ones are recyclable) located in the Narthex. If yours is on the list, then all you have to do is drop your cell phones or empty ink or toner cartridges in the box in the Narthex.

Do you enjoy taking pictures?
Would you like to share your creativity? We are looking for digital pictures to use for our Power point slides, on our website, & in our church ad., etc. If you have pictures to share, or would like to take some pictures to share, please contact Kristi in the office 825-1694

From Trash to Treasure....How YOU Can Help!
Campbell's Soup Labels-For the past 15 years we have been sending labels and box tops to a Christian ministry called, The South West Indian School" in Peoria, AZ. Thanks to all of you have been saving Campbell Soup labels for a this missions project. Now instead of the front of the cans the company wants only the bar code & the cute little Campbell's soup kid next to it. Also, don't forget to save your box tops off specially marked "Box Tops for Education" products.

Pop Can Recycling Project- Another ongoing project is saving pop cans. Money collected from the recycled cans goes to support our own Carol Magnusson with Wycliffe Bible Translators. There is a wooden box in the back of the parking lot next to the tool shed for depositing them. If you would please break off the metal rings on the top of the cans and save them, there is another "missions" project for them.

Pop Can Rings-We collect and donate these to the Ronald McDonald House. This is a wonderful program to designed help sick and terminal children & their families. There is a little red box in the narthex to place the labels and pop rings.

"Little is much when GOD is in it."

Would you like to be an under-shepherd?

What does an under shepherd do?

An under-shepherd makes a conscious effort to be aware of several friends and to follow up with them.

If there were needs, the under-shepherd would let an elder know of the need and be the contact person for the elder.

Under-shepherds are also the conduits for communicating with the body. For example if the elders need to survey the body, that would be handles through the shepherding lines.

I Peter 5:2-4 "Shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight not under compulsion, but voluntarily, according to the will of God; and not for sordid gain, but with eagerness; nor yet as lording it over those allotted to your charge, but proving to be examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory."

Would you like to be a part of our shepherding ministry?

Is God calling you to serve?

Are there areas of ministry within the church that you feel God is leading you to take part in? Do you want to be involved somehow, but don’t know where?

Right now, there is a display in the Narthex that highlights many different ministry area’s within the church (if we have missed an area, let us know!). There are a variety of opportunities that could appeal to every interest and talent. Please spend some time in prayer and ask God if and where He is directing you to serve, or to start a whole new ministry!
